nokhitha — Privacy Policy

Who we are

nokhitha (نوخذة) is a Kuwaiti marketplace app for boats, jet skis and marine gear, operated from Kuwait. Contact: abdulwahab@nokhithakw.com.

What we collect

• Account data: your phone number and the name you choose, used to create and secure your account. Signing in sends a one-time code to your phone number over WhatsApp.
• Listing content: titles, descriptions, prices, photos and video you publish. Listings are public to app users by design.
• Messages: chats between buyers and sellers, visible only to the two participants.
• Notification token: if you allow notifications, an anonymous identifier for your device so we can deliver alerts about your own chats and listings. It is removed when you sign out or delete your account.
• Diagnostics: if the app fails, we receive a crash report — what went wrong and the device model and app version, so we can fix it. Crash reports are not used to identify or profile you.
• Basic technical data: device and usage information needed to run and secure the service.

What we don't do

• We do not process or store payment card details — nokhitha does not handle payments between buyers and sellers.
• We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not use your data for advertising.
• We do not ask for or use your device's location. The sea conditions in the app come from a fixed list of Kuwaiti spots that you choose from yourself.

How data is stored

Data is stored with our cloud database provider (Supabase) with row-level security: your private data (messages, account details) is technically restricted to you and, for messages, the person you're chatting with.

Sharing

Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run nokhitha, and where required by law. Those providers are: Supabase (database, storage and accounts), Twilio (delivering your sign-in code), Google Firebase (push notifications) and Sentry (crash reports). Each receives only what it needs to do its job. Reports you file about listings or conversations are reviewed by our moderation.

Safety and moderation

Listings and messages are automatically screened for prohibited content, and you can report a listing or a conversation from inside the app. You can also block another user: they can no longer message you, and their listings are hidden from you. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours.

Your rights

• Deletion: the app includes "Delete account" (Profile), which permanently removes your account, profile and listings. If you no longer have the app, see how to delete your account.

nokhitha is intended for users aged 18 and over.

We will update this page when the policy changes; material changes will be announced in the app.
